How to Troubleshoot Wallet Syncing Issues

Disclaimer: This guide is used for informational purposes only. The Electra (ECA) Team is not responsible for what you do with your wallet. Please ask for help if you have any questions in this process. Always backup your mnemonic phrase, passphrase, and wallet.dat.

Please note wallet syncing issues can be caused by the Electra wallet not being allowed through a firewall on the computer, and in some cases, an antivirus program may be blocking it as well due to a false-flag error. Please make sure the wallet is both allowed through a firewall and not being blocked by an anti-virus program before continuing.

For Desktop Wallets…

Go to Settings —> Press Soft Reset

Restart the Desktop wallet and ECA will appear in the wallet after it syncs in about 1-2 hours.

For QT Wallets…

Windows

1. Completely close wallet and download this peers file. We need to do this so the wallet syncs in about an hour. Otherwise it’ll take a full 24hrs to sync to the network.

2. Press the Windows key + R

3. Type %appdata%\Electra and click OK or press Enter

4. Delete everything in the folder EXCEPT the wallet.dat file. Next, place the peers.dat file you downloaded into this folder. While you’re here please make a copy of the wallet.dat file and keep it somewhere safe. Preferably on a USB stick.

5. Restart wallet. ECA will appear in the wallet after it syncs in about 1-2 hours.

The wallet should connect pretty much right away. If after a few minutes you do not receive any active connections then please completely close the wallet and start again. The peers file needs to be over 400kb. Syncing will take about an hour and sometimes the wallet will hang on a block. This is normal and should resolve itself eventually.
